Summary

When Professor Henry Higgins, a brilliant but arrogant phonetician, encounters Eliza Doolittle—a spirited flower girl with a thick Cockney accent—he makes a daring wager. He bets that through rigorous training in speech and manners, he can pass her off as a duchess at an ambassador’s garden party. George Bernard Shaw’s masterpiece challenges the rigid social structures of his time, proving that the true difference between a lady and a flower girl lies not in how she speaks, but in how she is treated.
